1. RFA attempts to damage these nerves but is rarely effective.
2. Medical Image guidance (X-ray) is used
3. Needle and electrode placed through skin targeting facet joint nerve
4. With x-ray guidance, electrode tip is placed near the medial branch of dorsal ramus nerve.
5. The electrode tip is heated to 80⁰C and left in place for 2 minutes.
